Dear Jasmine,

Thanks again for your pateince.

Every extraction socket is unique in its own way and it is normal for some sockets to heal faster than others

Sometimes there are longer roots, sometimes there is need to remove more bone in order to remove bone etc,so the course of healing will vary from extracion to extraction.

As long as the socket has not healed completely, there will be an exudate that encourages the bacterial fermentation and bad smell.

Due to blood clots that form in the extraction sockets as well as abundant bacterial flora in the mouth an offensive smell may be noticed after surgery.

This wil resolve when healing of the wound has progressed further.

These symptoms will diminish in over an indefinate amount of time, although one to two weeks is considered normal.

You can start with normal foods but,Avoid eating hot, spicy and hard food. Also do not bite hard from extraction sites.

Continue with brushing, use a soft brush and small strokes of brushing over that area

Keep the area as clean as possible.
The cleaner it is,the fastest it heals.

You can also start with chlorhexidine mouthwash.
